Mahdist period, C.1885. 74 1/2" length. Iron head with medially ridged triangular point above tooth chiseled bolster. Opened seam conical socket. Cane haft. The upper portion profusely decorated in alternate segments of wiggle work bands and scorch finished depressions. The bottom portion in bands according to the joints with scorched vertical incisions. Original iron counterweight to the butt. The only example with a decorated haft that we have encountered.
